Fiel, you poor delusional girl. “It’s ok”, “Seletia-sama”, “My love rival accepted me”, “She is in a bad spot”, “She risked her life for me”.Fiel is falling over herself to show her lack of threat to the main pairing of the story. This is the reason self-sacrifice leads to despair. Your trauma causes you to sabotage yourself, leaving only regret later on. Look at this objectively: Seletia’s “sacrifice” is not something to be obsessed over. It was a big flashy move, made mostly out of ignorance of true consequences of magic overuse. She did good, but be real. Don’t forget all the contributions Fiel made until that point. She repeatedly saved Seletia’s life and then chose to fucking die delaying the Dragon to protect Seletia in the same battle. Is that something to be ignored? By everyone in the manga, apparently, but they speak with author’s voice: Seletia is First Girl, so she will be the Main Girl.
To add to this, what does the Seletia’s “acceptance” of Fiel even mean – the princess of a poor nation latched onto the first free high-tier magic teacher she got? That’s not acceptance, by acting friendly Seletia is just being smart to not lose such valuable national-level asset. Don’t get me wrong, Seletia is a good girl, despite being an entitled noble brat raised in priviledge, coasting on her inborn super-talent in magic and being literally a slave owner. She is showing growth and open-mindedness. But she hardly has a great character. And she is a slavemaster. (Also, she is a teenager, like 30 years younger than MC, but let’s forget about the obvious craddle-robbing, that’s normal for reincarnations.) Btw, did I mention that Seletia is a “benevolent” slaver oh-so-innocently holding MC back from reaching his goals and tieing him to herself? Because that’s really important.
In the end, Fiel is a wooby whose role is to be a token love rival, just like Sword Princess Whatshername (yeah, so “much” characterization given to her, she is fully defined by her sword; completely forgettable). A shame.
