The downside to actually liking this relationship is ironically what makes me dislike most of the other ones and its pace. Others take 50 chapters and better moments to admit care.

The relationship has almost zero weight in my mind, they interacted like what twice on screen before they got married. The story does a point to mention that they apparently traded letters but you can’t skip past all the relationship development and expect it to read coherently.
Almost feels like author woke up one morning and felt like he wanted romance in the story but didn’t know how to implement it so he just skipped all the character and relationship development to the end. The author can try and fix it as the story progresses by giving her more scenes and weight in the story with the MC but honestly that’s a pretty bad way to get anyone invested in a romance.
