I just have realized that the author is deliberately drawing Dominique all this time in such a way that we don’t see her as a snake. These super long sleeves are perceived subconsciously as pants, and the color of the tail is almost the same as the floor, so she’s visually a funny-looking girl, not a snake with a human torso at one end.
