He’s actually learning to finesse his creations and use them efficiently with proper, combat tactics. He will need this kind of know-how in the future. Considering what he’s accomplished, it would be comparatively inelegant for him to suddenly begin crafting stone golems.
Also, although the creature seems to be made of stone, the fact remains that neither stone nor earth are ideal materials for building anything that is expected to fly. And while a flying golem would be incredible; flight can be quite a challenging thing to accomplish. He likely lacks the skills necessary to build anything that can fly.

Why not make a new stone golem with that grinded stone instead? If earth skill works with stone, the core should be work with it as well. Or atleast make a composite with both of them to strengthening the golem!!

Why didn’t he just redo the golems into stone instead of earth? I feel they don’t really think things through.
