Looks like the MC is aware that his former guild has become powerless after he claimed his XP back, given how laid back he was and how he didn’t hesitate to give them some well deserved payback.
As for allowing them to escape, what can I say? He literally went from level 1 to something astronomically high, but he has no combat experience at all. It’s only normal that he falls for some cheap tricks until he adapts to his new strength and builds his combat senses.
