The MC praised himself to be better than 4th layers, yet he says “barely enough for 3rd layers”. Well, he does get nerfed pretty often 
Also the logic: “Before MC reaches X realm, X realm is rare, after he reaches X realm, X realm is the norm.”
I call that the logic of the Desolated Wasteland, the MC will always start where people are so weak no one ever cares about them and slowly move to places with stronger people. But those places are just glorified Desolated Wastelands because there are always places even better than those.
