Yah, working out to music helps, especially for cardio, can really help you keep pace or rythm, and notice immediately when you begin slowing down so you can increase breath or adjust strength/technique to compensate.
I know in races / fitness tests, having someone of similar strength to yourself, and being competitive with eachother can push you MUCH further (better scores) than without them there…
