Because any world is possible, that would also mean any fiction is possible. If we continue this line of theory that would mean horrendous shit like Warhammer 40k would exist and the warp. You could open up a gate to a hell dimension like they did in the Event Horizon movie. There is some really big risks to opening up gates to parallel worlds.
