I assume the reason they ban smurfers instead of hackers as moderation because it would be exponentially harder to control a hack client on that machine then anything else, so to act like they are actually doing some kind of moderation they ban them, if this was a real thing I could see company’s doing that.
In this type of system the game studios can’t even check anything ? Like they should see the history from the gamer id.
On the 1v3 part i dont see whats so difficult. Decade ago when i played call of duty 4 i had also moments where i was 1 vs 4 and slaughtered the other team for around 30 minutes with knife only cause they were all noobs who dont understand how sounds work as even with all the silence perks on a character there are still sounds you can hear from running and moving with headphones on

Smurfing, or more specifically, creating a new account when you already have one, can be bannable with some games. Chess.com has this rule for example. And arguably, pros beating up newbies is unfair. In other words, smurfing subverts the intended matchmaking.
Obviously, Almond is not a smurf since this is his first and only account.
When tf has there been a ban on smurfing? It is genuinely disliked but it is impossible to know who is smurfing and who is not. Even if smurfing is banable, the devs are pretty braindead too if they saw just 1 game and ban people, especially in that exact game there are players who are famous for being high ranking before, shouldn’t them be banned first? And even then, those people who were high ranking aren’t banned, shouldn’t the game matchmaking the issue and not the players? For example, ex gold rank player that have fallen to bronze due to inactivity is still treated different from the one who are actually newbie bronze, the same goes for skill matchmaking.
So diamond ranked squad in bronze from elo decay wasn’t smurfing?
