Yeah, terms like immortal or indestructible are used in all kinds of stories, but they pretty much never mean what such words are actually supposed to mean.
I find references to something or someone as being “a god/goddess” to be another good example. They almost always have a beginning of some kind through which they became deified, a death, or degradation of their divine status, as well as other limits, restrictions or conditions to the use of their abilities (which are out of their power to change.) Such beings are also always getting killed off by “Big Bads” or MCs. So how are such limited and ultimately mortal entities gods? It’s kind of silly when you get down to it.

Immortality and invincibility are not the same thing. They being immortal only means they won’t die of natural causes. The regeneration and heightened senses are just a bonus.
