Dam, so his plan was to capture the corrupt duks. So he went against the new king so all the corrupt officials be in his castle and not run away.

I get that he’s supposed to be some sort of noble-warrior type but I really don’t have any respect for him. He was smart enough to see all the possibilities and deliberately chose something he knew was short-sighted. Why???? And then, having made that choice, he doesn’t actually even commit to it fully! This is why I would be a HORRIBLE manager and will never be a people-person. I see what he’s doing, I even understand it, but I have no patience for it nor respect for it. I am so very very very glad I have never had to be an employer. I would feel really bad for anyone stuck working for me.

I knew it.
So he realized the country is corrupted to the root but both Him and the Royalty cant do anything without triggering a coup’ as the Nobles now hold most of the people under a leash called “hunger”.
Thats why he lurred all the corrupted nobles and planning to die with him, plucking all the evil roots and let MC plant a new tree.
