I think, in his laconic ambiguity, he failed to report the Inquisitor’s death, and so delayed the investigation into the increase in goblin activity that would reveal the rise of a new threat. Oops

As much as I love the main series, Year One adds so much depth to the already complex characters; it may very well be my favorite of the three.

i thought elves sailing to the west at the end of their life was some sort of a joke reference to LOTR, but man that was well written seeing Slayer carry out her funeral

Goblin Slayer coping with the death of his first real comrade in arms in a respectful yet distant way… you can tell it won’t ever be something he forgets and sunk close to home when even days after, his armor was heavy and he felt hard to move because the difficult part of his journey wasn’t the fight, it was accepting her death.
