Every time one of those horns broke he got closer to becoming the goblin slayer we know, on his first hunt he was essentially just a kid obsessed with getting its revenge but when the horn broke he overcame his naivete and began to actually recognize Goblins for the threat they are and started actually thinking and trying to learn from every mistake he made instead of just swinging his sword. When his horn breaks this time he overcomes his emotions and recognizes that his past, his work and his life don’t really matter. All that matters is killing Goblins, he doesnt need a reason or purpose for doing so.

But when the dice roll he’s badically moving on straight anger and adrenaline.
But ive seen that first hand. Ive lived it too. One time when my brother i and were kids, this other split open my brothers hand (partially by mistake) but they we’re verbally fighting and then the kid threw a heavy rock my brother. My brother blocked it with his hand (fvcking his hand up pretty badly) then the kid ran away getting on his bicycle and riding down our driveway and up the pretty vertical street we lived on.
My brother staired at his bloody open hand (idk why i did nothing he was the older bro so idk)
My brother then just LET LOOSE. Dude gave the kid Bryan one full minute head start ON A BIKE (granted uphill riding) my bro starts straight SPRINTING towards the bike in an adrenaline fury. Idk what else to call it. My brother has never run so fast and honestly ive never seen someone run so fast even in all the contact sports i played.
My bro caught him in like 15 seconds and beat the shit out of him. I stopped it btw because the kid didn’t deserve my brother’s insane rage lololol

TL;DR of my other comment: After his first horn breaks, he discards his idea of what Goblins are and accepts that they are simply creatures he needs to kill. After his second horn breaks, he discards his idea of what he himself is and accepts that he just needs to kill Goblins, who he is doesnt matter
This is also represented by his use of gear, at first he only relies on the basic adventurer equipment he gets from the blacksmith, then he starts using specialized worn out or subpar equipment incase he dies during a goblin hunt and now he starts actively using the goblin’s weapons, he no longer cares where the weapon comes from as long as the goblin dies.
His evolution can be summed up as:
