GOBLIN SLAYER: SIDE STORY YEAR ONE - Chapter 18
Comments for chapter "Chapter 18"
Missing a chapter, there is (annoyingly) a chapter 17.5
25 goblins…. yeah i could see how an unprotected village where the best of the males are off working or fighting as soldiers far away so that all there is are women, children and old men — would be a perfect target. Who’s there to stop them? Women? Chances are these aren’t Spartan women. And being “empowered” is only good for propaganda on tv not actual combat.
Honestly id pay to watch how a group of 21st century feminists would survive. News flash. They wouldn’t. Their instincts arent to fight. They would probably whine and cry and insult men for not protecting them.
Though even most men would lose i wager. Being raised as absolute betas. Why wouldn’t they?
Anyways,
25 goblins vs women, children and old men. But this assumption is held up entirely by the idea that the village wouldn’t atleast have a few soldiers for protection. They most definitely would. Especially this “era”.

Notice how he now refers to Goblins by “he” instead of “it”, he now also recognizes individual Goblins, to me this seems like he now sees them as somewhat intelligent individuals instead of just being members of a species, he also puts himself on the same level as said individuals and sees each of them as a tangible threat instead of bodies for him to kill. I think he only saw them as a dangerous species before this mission, not actually seeing them as individuals that can be dangerous on their own.
His village now also no longer has that much meaning for him in terms of goblin slaying but still serves as a reminder to not get complacent no matter what because it reminds him of how dangerous Goblins are and as I said before all Goblins are now seen as a threat by him no matter how many/few of them there may be so he searches all night to make sure he got every single one of them.
