The thing I heard about Korean military service is that is extremely disruptive. After it people often have trouble to get back into work.
That and many normal job ask for a college degree and 30 years of job experience, but you shouldn’t be older than 20.
On top rich folks can wiggle themselves out of the otherwise mandatory service.
And nepotism is rampart. Got connections, you get a cushy job. Got no connections, you get jack.
