It’s a little sad he lost after all that build-up, but at the same time it would probably be problematic if everyone around Ippo started becoming World Champions.
People would inevitably start complaining about just anybody having world title.
Still, I think Mashiba won it regardless of the decision, since he was just one punch away from knocking the champion down, even though said champion has been cheating whole fight long.
Also, we’ve seen even more character development from Mashiba in this fight, so it’s a win in itself.
I think he’s not even gonna be mad after the fight, but glad he took it that far.
Well done Mashiba, you’re the GOAT
