Harten - Chapter 9

i like this story but the tropey-ness of villains lately is tiresome. in this fantasy, there are monsters and calamity at every corner, but somehow the villains are always getting away with it. does anyone really think thugs like this could make it for a day, acting that way? tens of thousands of adventurers, presumably, doing nothing?

it would just take one poison arrow from a random rooftop or drugged food.

they always portray the edge that adventurers walk taking on monsters and the like,
and somehow always come back to face some bully-rapists due to some debts in town.

as if they wouldnt all be killed that night. ffs.

consider a character that exists that would be the anti-thesis to these villains?

the villains exist plentifully with infinite resources and time in every story.

and no one step outs to take them on because plot armor.

as if you, the adventurer, who has nothing but time on their hands wouldnt just hunt them down every night for FUN. just so you could come back to town after long adventures and not be bothered by idiots.

in D&D we call it murder-hobo’ing. its natural and obvious.

and because manga’s need to have dramatic plots, they always carry these tropes.

i digress; tiresome
