when did this become a high school drama/romance? It started off with him being less than human, and a strong and skilled fighter, with him becoming weaker due to the barrier, and instead of constantly showing his training, or him depicting it they instead show a liche noble fighting a commoner story, also they are humanizing the character too early, you gotta let it age like fine wine.
