Dude, Mt. Everest is only about 30k ft. That’s less then five miles. Pilots flying above 10 miles usually wear space suits. They would have passed out.
The tree probably wouldn’t even make it to Earth. It would burn up like a meteor. If that thing was too dumb to see it coming and get out of the way, it deserves to die.
Also, the impact would be like a nuke going off.
