Assassin-type enemies are typically one-trick ponies. See through their move and they become infinitely less dangerous.
Of course, it’s different if they are (or become) allies or major enemies.

The key to countering his attack is to remember that he always comes from the rear. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen a character use a vanishing technique to appear directly in front of someone.
