Well, they were apparently marching for days with little or no supplies and were on the verge of starvation. So, is it really stupid of them to stop for a while and enjoy this bounty instead of obeying their masters (who don’t apparently care enough about them to even supply them with food?)
I think it’d be downright crazy if they acted with such great loyalty to their uncaring masters that they decided to forego basic survival.

Man, these soldiers are really dumb, huh? They’re on a time limit, since they can only do this while everyone’s distracted in the capitol, but they’re going to stop here and enjoy this sketchy food stall in the middle of an abandoned city?
