Rapid fire crossbow a weapon that is like modern weapon. How can MC say modern weapon as what is even a modern to the guy ? It’s the mc’s 101 time of isekai that he been in all types of time in all sorts of planets with advance level from caveman to future space colony. Given the poor maneuverability of armored nights and how they tend to clump together in phalanxes, I’m surprised they didn’t try using Molotov cocktails as cheap stand-ins for grenades. Using sprayed oil (e.g. from mage use of wind, etc.) and either flaming arrows or even small fire bolt spells they could set fire to the entire attacking front quite cheaply, a medieval version of napalm attacks.
