That’s assuming that a basic flame is good enough, or that boiling it will give that effect at all.

That would only work if the boiling point of the original potion is higher than water, which isn’t confirmed

So, why didn’t he just make swords for almost everyone from the beaks? Sharpen the blade part, full and wrap the hilt and it wouldn’t be shoddy
Super clever, but can’t figure out obvious things like that or just making double bladed throwing knives out of them. Seriously, he could have made a pile of weapons with that sharpening ability. And everyone would be grateful, not just pissed that they have nothing and he has everything.
