This is why I love HxH. It has never been about fighting without sense. It has always been about logic and mind games. This includes picking the right time and place and also the right setting for a fight. Think of how long it took until finally Gon got to beat the crap out of Neferpitou. And of course the game of the last chapters fulfills the purpose of giving the reader that highly needed information about all that is going on right now.
Sorry for stating my (obviously) unpopular opinion. Also sorry for bad english.
The card game is stupid but I think the rules make sense in the context of a manipulative nen ability.
