Okay, we can assume that this crime thing has a basic moral system like “don’t kill people without a proper cause”, but what is a proper cause? Like, sure you can get an idea but how do you exactly determine someone’s moral? And how does it work; is it based of the MC’s morality or does the skill have its own? These things are always too ambiguous because if it counts all killing as bad, that ain’t exactly right for a lot of people but if it justifies some killing then others are gonna disagree and so on. And this just talking about killing, we could go with stealing for instance. Is it morally bad to steal if you’re dying from hunger? Would it count for the skill? If I had the skill but didn’t know exactly the morality it’s based on, I would doubt about its accuracy.
