Yeah, when humans go to space they completely forget the laws/rules of safe operations of vessels. And here we have a highest category vessel (independent operation far away from ports and rescue being unavailable), owned by a rich megacorporation – obviously a high class gig vessel… being operated worse than a Nigerian poacher offshore fish trawler.

The lack of realism in relation to the fire is really BS. Fire is by very-very far the most dangerous mishap on any vessel, much less a spaceship. What should be happening here is that all potentially flammable compounds would be stored at a very safe location, could be taken out after filling a bunch of paperwork, returned after use and always be closely monitored. At the slightest hint of smoke/fire – there would be a ship-wide emergency alert and equipped firefighting teams would be rushing to the scene as previously drilled ad nauseam. Also, the power would be cut immediately and mandatory automatic firefighting equipment would immediately self-deploy and start doing things. In this case it would probably be freon or the like means of automatic oxygen displacing firefighting that they use in submarines rather than foam or water. While it would kill all the unprotected personnel in the area – it should stop the fire. And yes, the crew would be entering with oxygen masks as the stuff is toxic and there being no oxygen.
