Kao is gaokao is for kaoshi, which is test, and gao is probably for gaoxue, which is high school, but I’m not completely sure abt any of this bc 1. I’m not Chinese, and 2. I’m not in high school, but it’s prob the Chinese equivalent of SAT or ACT combined (whatever those are, pretty sure one of them is in 10th grade tho).

It looks like a good Manhua to me, the art isn’t bad and even if the development is a bit fast, it’s not too annoying.
