why does the mc always have an op way to win in these offenses could he either breeze through them or could he lose everything he worked for?

I understand that the system is trying to balance things and MC needs challenges to keep the story interesting but does he really need to struggle so much in every of these Defense battles, only to pull a solution out of his ass
