I think do not you is probably grammatically correct. However, do you not has the right formal tone and also sounds more elegant, so I strongly prefer that phrasing.
Guys, that sentence is correct.
There is similar sentence before: “That’s an insult, isn’t it?”. According to grammar, when you want to “ask” hearer to agree with your statement, the pattern is positive statement then negative question tag or vice versa.
“That’s an insult” is positive statement, following by “isn’t it?”, a negative question tag.
“You know our imperial princess” is a positive statement, after that is a negative question tag, “don’t you?”. There is nothing wrong.
“…,do not you?” is still correct when the empress want to emphasize the word “NOT”.
The translator do pretty good job so far.
I don’t think it’s bad grammar, but it might be old English, so I’m not sure. It’s strange because the entire thing had good grammar, and the final one had that, so it must have been intentional.
It’s a OLD WAY OF SPEAK “do not you”. It sounds good here 🙂 👍
