its hard to say which is better, but after he got the commander role, the future of the plot is partially decided. this means its gonna be about strategy over armies and support from behind. While this is interesting in its own aspect, that means i wont get to see the mc that gets super strong and fights on his own abilities as well. 
Still waiting for this to get good..
