Finish digging the ditches from before, put a little oil in it and when the rats fall shoot a low mana fireball and light them up. After do the same funnel technique for the remaining 1000 or so. And yes, 2000 will be burned cause they’re rats who cant fly. also no oil? use gunpodwer. sprinkle it along the trenchs. also the trench should resemble a cresent moon going halfway around the castle. Unless monsters attack from all sides but from what we’ve seen the usally only attack from 1 and kinda spread from there

Honestly with how intelligent the monsters are, I feel like lighting a fire all the way around the city would deal with 3000 rats.
