just a quick nitpick: longswords aren’t actually very heavy. i get that he might think that, but compared to a katana for example, a longsword might very well be much easier to use based on the size of the longsword as well as the balance of the blade, while katanas are usually have a different balance than european swords and because of that are harder to use, but even katanas are not that heavy.:) even an untrained person can swing around even a broadsword for a short time. longswords were made to be used, they are a lot lighter than wall-hanger swords that usually don’t have a good balance or weight ratio. just a small nitpick but i see this being perpetrated a lot in mangas, but i can’t really blame the author for not researching it since if he were to delve into each and every little thing it would take forever to write a story.
