I feel like the her father skipped the whole “why did you kidnap my daughter” bit. Maybe they talked about it in the novel and had it be off screen here but it seems like such a weird oversight.
Even if our MC did protect her, I feel like that doesn’t rule him out having done it for an ulterior motive. I just would’ve liked more pushback on it from the father but oh well.
