it sounds stupid but if you look at it from life or death situation it kinda makes sense? i mean magicians were weak could not do shit back then because it’s the “early game” you can die in a dungeon so you choose to be a sturdy melee guy. (because you don’t know that later you can dominate if you had stuck to magic)
