The gatling gun passive applies to any gun, even if it isn’t a gatling gun. So he’s using a sniper rifle and triggering the gatling passive.
Now, if they go ahead and call the gun a galtling or minigun outright, then that’s just stupidity on the author’s part.
You’re right, the point of a gatling gun and other Heavy Machine Guns is for a mix of “suppressive fire” (filling the air with enough lead that the enemies duck for cover, allowing allies more freedom to reposition, charge, flank, or retreat) and “anti-vehicle fire” (using large enough caliber bullets to damage/destroy enemy vehicles). The gun’s design and the constant recoil of the gun while firing in rapid succession makes a mounted scope both pointless and dangerous for the gunner.
However, this so-called “Gatling Gun” skill started with a 10-round ammo capacity (smaller than some pistols), and even in its current upgraded capacity of 15, it’s still smaller than most semi-automatic rifles like this, while the scope remains pointless since he’s only aiming for targets at close-range.
Wasn’t the slots amount only 4? Why did he turn both of them into passives? Did I miss a message where it increases in the last chapter!?

I was wondering why this felt familiar but that weapon and expert remarks confirmed it. This is a King’s Avatar clone or maybe even inside Glory as a premise.
