What kind of world look down on the pretty much the ultimate weapon that is not a modern weapon? The spear is quite possibly the strongest weapon a normal person to can handle, a master spearman on the same skill level as a swordman will pretty much always win unless it is 3v1. Rock on a stick stayed throughout history as the most popular weapon for a reason.

The spears explanation did not make sense. Because you killed all their prey the starving ones were now able to survive and reproduce? What? You got rid of their food so instead of starving they were able to live? That is not how starvation or food work.
