And MC sells a year of lifespan for it …
Well, wouldn’t be the first one about extreme poverty. There’s one where the MC* is so poor (s)he’s forced to lives off of the smell of flavor packs of instant noodles, despite working 3 jobs.

I don’t see how selling your lifespan is “too to be true”. But being able to buy additional lifespan for yourself would be interesting… But the story is about a seller.
