Hello, readers, and thank you for reading this comment. Judging from the older comments below, I guess my opinion is in the minority here, but I’ll describe my current perspective as such:
I would sum up this main character as extremely passive. Whereas the people in the story view him as incompetent because he exhibits no skills, I currently find him incompetent because of his poor choices.
Protagonist does not make effort to control his powers, instead refusing to use them, which causes them to be… uncontrollable. (Surprise!)
Because he doesn’t try, he is called a disgrace by his family, which then displeases him. So maybe do something else about it?
In the same chapter, the protagonist’s lack of effort results in people deciding his future, which also surprises him. What else did he expect, since he’s apparently so much smarter than everyone else enrolling into the academy?

Luna Flame’s family rank changed from Marquess to Duke suddenly. Makes sense with how the other nobles were treating her. I am guessing it was a mistranslation earlier because why would Alice from another Marquess family be wanting to be her knight and bow down to her otherwise? Would only make sense if she was a Duke or King’s daughter.
