I think when they say ‘gold pieces’ they mean ‘copper pieces’ or maybe yen. Even if each coin weighs as much as a dime (~2grams) then that’s 16,000 grams or 16kilograms. There is NO WAY cleaning up someone’s yard is worth 16 kilos of gold.
However, if they were copper pieces i.e. pennies, then that’s about $160 for the job, which is much more like it!
