While I get that the title of the manga is to build a castle with bricks, since he is from the modern era you would think he would use modern tactics to weaken his enemies and strengthen his forces. Send in teams of sappers starting from the palace in the capital and work their way out by destroying walls, creating pitfalls in front of the doors and gates of castles and infantry barracks. Destroy roads and bridges to slow communication, logistics, and troop movements. Cause chaos to buy time. Then working from the outside villages entice people to migrate to the new lands, reducing food production and labor (redirected to repairs as well) in the enemy while increasing your own through promised housing, lower taxation, and food yields. Probably prevent hiring mercenaries too with cost increases. THEN create defensive walls, bridges with traps to kill troops crossing them, enforced riverbanks to prevent fording nearby, etc. History is there for a reason, ignore at your peril.
Ars I like you but your getting carried by plot armor. It was 5:1 (assuming the other village brought forth 50 ppl too) and you ran in straight towards them and suffered 0 recorded casualties. Shoutout to the flank of Valkyries but how he did it they should’ve lost before the backup even arrived even if you include the strength disparity between our 3 main fighters, the rest of our army should theoretically be arguably weaker or even to their fighters but outnumbered
