Another idea would be to use the wall creation after they were trapped, instead of the brick-catapults. Create a wall on each side at the top and then make them fall towards the pass by destroying the ground under them. There, try surviving 2 brick walls falling on you.

I don’t see why they didn’t launch oil and burn, smoke, asphyxiate them in the constrained space. Should even work on giant after he climbed up. Even just slipping off the wall should cause damage, even better if the bottom of the wall had caltrop like spikes all around it.
