Having a phone and allowing yourself to be contacted 24/7 is the easiest way to become exploited. When my work day is done if I get a call from my workplace the call goes unanswered, if it’s the company’s phone it gets switched off when I get home. Unless I have a contract that says I work 24/7 there is no emergency at the company that I will pay any mind to once I’m done for the day. Sure bosses and middle management hate it and threaten to fire me, but that’s only because I can sue them for unreasonable practices when I don’t comply to their uncontracted demands.
