A lot of people seem to be missing the fact that- A. This is a different world, with different views of what Normal is. And B. That slavery is not only accepted, but goddamn mandatory.
For God’s sake… they even kidnap people from other worlds to sell as slaves. (And they had to figure out the logistics of HOW to do that)
this chapter made me dislike Jean a bit. tricking this girl into indentured slavery is not cool. highlander or not. Yuta should realise that he didnt like being a slave so why would he enslave another?
She doesn’t appear to think that it might be a good idea to tell the folks back home, the ones who are on a bit of a revenge mission… because they think she’s DEAD, that she’s actually alive and kicking…
Compared to her military lifestyle before, the cutaway shots and smiles convey that indentured servitude is nothing more than a spring trip.
