why is he a hypocrite? which part of the story where he acted like he is a hypocrite?

He’s helped the people he’s come across who needed help. He goes out of his way not to make a fuss about it but other people won’t let him. How does that make him arrogant, and not even knowing anything about him anyway, how do they come to that conclusion ? Apart from anything else… isn’t sorting out other peoples problems one of the things that adventurers do ?
