for those who forgot, MC is in this world because of him, so they are linked. This means that when MC is grateful for him, he literally feels physical pain. If MC gets to a certain point this guy will literally die if he doesn’t kill MC
It’s made a lot more clear in the LN but most of the tax increase is used to fund a new colony world. A lot of the citizens are happy about it as they see it as a great opportunity and, of course, they all assume their great lord will use the money wisely for the benefit of his people.
Let’s see what you’re about to do hurts or benefits the MC.
