Actually, an assurance like that from terrorists isn’t entirely bad, most real terrorists are so convinced of their ideals that they passionately (Though impersonally) hate those they target. Therefore, they’d gladly engage in various forms of torture, for no other reason than because it feeds their member’s zealotry. Many of them also genuinely believe their victims deserve absolutely any kind of suffering they can possibly imagine.
Not that I’d expect anyone to be comforted by such an opener.
