Not much of direct relevance, but when he found the brandy fountain, I instantly remembered the song called Brandy by Looking Glass. The song is easily one of my all-time favorites

A brandy fountain? Hmm, that’s a very strange idea on the author’s part. Not only would you not be able to take it with you, but the room would also be filled with alcohol fumes. The brandy would take on the smell of the room. I can’t decide whether the author is an alcoholic or someone who knows nothing about alcohol.
