In this story, you can’t really trust anyone.
Soundman had his reasons for allying with Funny Valentine, and thus, his fate was unavoidable. His death is the turning point of Johnny beginning to show mastery over his stand powers.
Meanwhile, although not allied with Funny Valentine, the mysterious Hot Pants has her own motives in this as well, and clearly, she values those corpse parts dearly.
So many dead bodies are going to left behind in the wake of it all. All for a creature and its’ power to bring glory and miracles.
