it’s really stupid but also it’s a good example of how when you choose something and you sacrifice time and people and even some of your morals for it, it doesn’t matter if the cost has already exceeded any other choice you’re able to make. you’d still insist on continuing the path you’ve chosen.
like just now, Norisuke was ready to give his life to save tsurigi, but between backtracking and letting his father sacrifice himself and killing him for a much smaller benefit, he chose to kill him.
