The consumption of ‘meat’ leads to an overwrite of *common sense’ by survival instinct and feeding.
Some might maintain sanity by overwhelming mental strength (Suchan).
Others keep their sanity by merging it with all that got into them and become extremely intelligent monsters, going wild while thinking like humans.
A small details though:
the ‘super powers’ of insects come from their size, as it would be impossible for bigger beings to keep the same properties.
For example ants are 40 time stronger than humans because their exoskeleton uses molecular properties non replicable on a higher scale.
